Senior Cost Accountant
Primary Role
The Senior Cost Account and Financial Analyst is responsible for providing support to the organization by leveraging their financial and accounting skills to successfully manage areas of inventory and sales related data. This individual will work closely with Operations and Senior Management
Responsibilities
Cost accounting activities, which include but is not limited to:
- Prepares and directs the implementation of cost accounting methods and activities.
- Be responsible for managing and maintaining standard costing system
- Provide costing and pricing information on new and existing products.
- Prepare Tax Returns, Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss Statements
- Prepare and monitor Insurance Statements
- Manage procurement process, probity, independence and audits
- Take active measures to implement policy of Zero Fraud and Corruption
- Prepare and assist with Financial documents required for tenders and business proposals
- Prepare cost accounting reports for presentation to management
- Prepare Invoices, Review Contracts and Inputs required for Invoices
- Follow up for Payments
- Submit Receivables each month and manage cashflow
- Monitoring low margin items and provide reporting monthly basis
- Establish/maintain product costing standards including preparation of labour and
overhead rates and material standards
- Assisting in the development, managing and auditing cycle count program
- Accounting for material, labour and overhead variances
- Review and approval of plant productivity statistics and preparation of various reports
- Calculate, review and forecast margins and budget rates
- Support the pricing team to ensure that it is producing high quality, accurate and timely
pricing information for the organization
- Develop a pricing strategy appropriate to a high quotation throughout the organization
- Demonstrate ability to create, change and influence change in organizations
- Maintain and enhance internal accounting controls
- Support the review of internal and external audit
- Adhere to company integrity program and ethics policy
- Analyse inventory for slow moving and potential obsolete items
- Review and analyse inventory obsolescence reserve
- Other tasks as determined necessary to the job function
- Verification of Invoices and documentations. Maintaining of Bills Receivable and Bills
Payables, Purchase and Sales Department, Admin works, Cost Controlling.
Knowledge / Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related area
- ICWA or CA Qualification Mandatory.
- 5-7 years of experience in the field.
- Superior knowledge of MS Office suite of products
- Ability to work extra hours/time as needed
